​​On 3rd Dec 2024, an illegal martial law declared by president Yoon in South Korea. Substantial number of people arose against this decision, started protests for impeachment of him. The wave of impeachment protests has spread globally as well, among the Korean diaspora in countries including Canada.
I designed a poster to advertise protest in North York, Toronto, in voluntary demand at a Korean community in Canada.
The illustration on the middle is a group of placards, candles, flags and light sticks; all of those are common in protest in Korea, plus flag with funny phrase and light sticks for K-pop bands have been unique symbols in Korea as a positive movement about increased political interest in young women. The stuffs make a form of the leaf of Toronto flag with the negative space to represent identity as Korean in Canada.
